I acquired several nice keychain size 3' tape measures. they would be ideal for tennis umps to use to measure the net. if you post a blog, and indicate a need for a handy tape measure, I will give you one the next time I see you. limited to newer officials while supplies last.

I moved to PNW in February and am finally settled and looking forward to attending class and doing some umpire work in 2009. This is the first time I have ever posted a comment on any blog anywhere and it seems pretty easy. I've book marked the page and will check on it regularly to stay on top of everything (I hope). Thanks John for your eight years as Chair of Officials in the USTA PNW section. I appreciate your enthusiasm and dedication to the sport, and wish you well in your new role with the USTA PNW.
I too have recently moved to PNW (April 2008) from the Mountain section and previously from the SW section. Although I took the last year and a half off from officiating due to foot surgery and a move, I am planning to attend the 2009 class and get back into doing some officiating.
I'll follow up on location and times as they become known. All I have read is that they are scheduled for the end of this month?
